SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women's basketball squares off with I-35 rival UTSA on Dec. 5. The Bobcats are fresh off a convincing victory over the Prairie View A&M Panthers. The Roadrunners will come to Strahan Coliseum for a 7 p.m. scheduled tip in San Marcos, Texas.

Last Time Out for the Bobcats
• Texas State bounced back in a big way, defeating the Prairie View A&M Panthers by a score of 84-57.
• The offense found the rhythm it lacked in the loss to Houston on Nov. 28. The Bobcats shot 32-of-67 (47.8-percent) from the floor and 12-of-14 (85.7-percent) from the charity stripe. In total, 10 of the 11 Bobcats that appeared in the game scored against PVAMU. Of the 32 made field goal attempts, 26 came via the assist, including eight from the Sun Belt's leading assister, Taeler Deer.
Ti'Aira Pitts played a highly-effective 12 minutes, pouring in a career-high 18 points. The senior forward converted 8-of-13 shot attempts, including a pair of triples. Pitts found the range early, knocking down the first seven points of the game for the Bobcats. Toshua Leavitt added 17 points, Deer tallied 15 points and Brooke Holle chipped in 10 points. The game marked the second time this season that TXST registered four double-figure scorers.

Leavitt, Deer Honored by College Hoops Madness/SBC
• Last week Toshua Leavitt was named the Madness Sun Belt Player of the Week (Nov. 27) and Player of the Week by the SBC (Nov. 28).
• Leavitt earned the nod on the heels of a career-week. In the win at Texas Southern on Nov. 21, the junior netted six 3-point attempts on her way to what was a career-high 24 points. She topped that mark with a 28-point explosion in the victory over Fresno State. The game marked the third time she topped the 20-point barrier this season and the third time she connected on at least six triples in one game.
Taeler Deer was named College Sports Madness Mid-Major Player of the Week for the second time in her career on Nov. 13, and was named Sun Belt Player of the Week on Nov. 14. Finally, Deer was selected as a member of the NCAA Women's Basketball starting five of the week alongside: Louisville's Asia Durr, Iowa's Megan Gustafson, Oregon's Sabrina Ionescu and Middle Tennessee's Gaby Lyon.
• The Houston native posted a line of 44 points, a new career-high, eight assists and five rebounds in the team's season-opening victory over Texas Tech. Her scoring output was the most ever recorded by a Lady Raider opponent inside of the United Supermarkets Arena and tied the record for most points ever scored by a Texas Tech opponent.

Quest for 100
• Coach Z improved to 93 career wins as the head coach of the Texas State women's basketball team. Only three coaches in program history have guided the women's basketball program to 100 wins: Suzanne Fox (1997-2011), Judy Rinker (1966-75) and Linda Sharp (1989-1997). In her first season at Texas State, the 2011-12 campaign, she led one of the best turnarounds in school history, taking a 9-20 team the year before, to 17-14, including the school's first conference tournament win since 2003. During her run at TXST, Coach Z has averaged nearly 15 wins per season and has taken the Bobcats to the WBI in three of the last four seasons.

Bobcats for Three
• Through Saturday's game, Texas State has drilled 9.7 3-point shots per contest, which ranks inside the top-15 nationally. Toshua Leavitt has been cooking this season, netting 30 shots from deep this season. Her 4.43 made 3-pointers per contest ranks No. 3 in the NCAA and leads the Sun Belt Conference. Leavitt's 39.2-percent ranks fourth in the Sun Belt amongst qualified 3-point shooters.
• Adding an extra layer to the offensive attack this year, Brooke Holle has knocked down 11 3-pointers over the course of the season. Her ability to stretch the floor and connect from deep has opened up the game for the rest of her teammates.
• In total, nine Bobcats have made at least one shot from behind the arc this season, including all eight players who average double-digit minutes per contest.
• The team is shooting 33.8-percent from deep, which ranks fourth in the conference and in the top-third of the NCAA rankings. Defensively, the Bobcats surrender a dreadful 21.9-percent from long range, which ranks second in the conference and No. 10 in the NCAA.
