SAN MARCOS, Texas – With two games remaining on the regular season schedule, the Texas State women's basketball team returns home to host Troy and South Alabama this weekend. The 'Cats will first take on the Trojans of Troy Thursday evening before welcoming South Alabama on Senior Day. Tip-off against the Trojans is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Strahan Coliseum.
Texas State is coming off of a hard fought loss to UT Arlington Tuesday evening. The 'Cats committed just six turnovers in the loss, a total that matches a program-low, and shot just under 45 percent from the floor. UTA took an early lead over the Bobcats and hit seven 3-pointers in the first half to stay just out of reach of Texas State.
Kaitlin Walla led the 'Cats with 16 points and in all, five Bobcats scored in double figures. The Bobcats also hit six 3-pointers which put them at 212 this season. The 212 made 3's now sets a program record, a mark that was set last year with 207.
Raven Burns leads the way with 50 made 3's this season, 41 of which have come during Sun Belt Conference play. She has hit 37.6 percent of her 3's in SBC play to lead Texas State.
