SAN MARCOS, Texas – After earning victories against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Prairie View A&M, the Texas State soccer team will hit the road once again for a pair of matches against Southland Conference opponents Northwestern State and Stephen F. Austin this weekend. Texas State will first kick-off against the Lady Demons Friday evening at 7 p.m. before a 1 p.m. kick-off Sunday against the Lady Jacks.
 
Texas State, which enters the weekend with a 3-2-0 overall record, owns a 14-8-3 record against the Lady Demons and 11-9-2 mark against SFA. In the last meeting against Northwestern State, Texas State dominated by a score of 3-0 on August 31, 2014. Stephen F. Austin took the last meeting against the Bobcats, defeating Texas State by a 1-0 margin on August 25, 2013.
 
Last weekend, junior forward Lauren Prater notched her second and third goals of the season against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. With three goals, Prater has set a career-high for goals in a season. In her first two seasons combined she recorded two.
 
Junior Taylor Allen also had a historical weekend after scoring her first collegiate goal against the Panthers. Allen's goal came in the 87th minute to give Texas State a 2-0 edge.
 
11407A Look At The Competition – Northwestern State
Northwestern State enters Friday's contest with a 3-3-1 overall record and most recently a 10-0 victory over Alcorn State Tuesday evening. The Lady Demons have scored 20 goals so far this season, averaging 2.86 per contest.
 
Individually, Northwestern State is led by Kayleigh Phillips and Brittany Caserma. Phillips leads the squad with four goals and Caserma follows her up with three. The lone penalty kick scored this season for Northwestern State was shot by Karoline Guidry, who owns two of the squad's goals.
 
George Van Linder is the head coach of the Lady Demons and is currently in his fourth season with NSU. He has a total of 17 seasons under his belt as a head coach with an overall record of 165-142-28.
 
19392A Look At The Competition – Stephen F. Austin
The Stephen F. Austin Lady Jacks have started the 2015 season with a 0-5-0 overall record and a tough, non-conference schedule. SFA began the regular season at Arkansas before competing against Minnesota and Western Kentucky in Baton Rouge, La. After a 4-1 defeat to the Razorbacks, the Lady Jacks fell in close, 1-0 contest to the Gophers and the Hilltoppers.
 
The Lady Jacks continued their non-conference schedule with a match-up against No. 24 Arizona State and Arizona. The lone goal for SFA was in the regular season opener against the Razorbacks. That goal was scored by Ashton Norman.
 
Wally Crittenden is the head coach of the Lady Jacks and currently is in his third season at the helm of the SFA program. His first two seasons at SFA leads the program to their best two-year period in school history with an .810 winning percentage (32-6-4).
