SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team begins a road and home weekend, beginning with a trip to Corpus Christi Friday evening. The Bobcats will then return from Corpus Christi for a home contest against Prairie View A&M Sunday afternoon. All-time against these two squads, Texas State is 9-0 including a pair of 2-0 victories last year.
 
The Bobcats are coming off of a tough weekend at home last week with a pair of defeats to McNeese State and UTEP. The Bobcats scored first in the contest against the Miners, but a first half goal to tie up the contest along with one in the 79
th minute lifted UTEP to its 10
th victory all-time against Texas State. Overall this year, Texas State has posted a 1-2-0 record.  
 
Lynsey Curry scored the lone goal of the weekend in the third minute against the Miners. She leads the Bobcats with two.
 
A Look At The Competition – Texas A&M-Corpus ChristiThrough the first three matches of the season, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is off to a 0-3-0 start in 2015. The Islanders have scored one goal this year and it was against Southern Utah on August 23. The player responsible for the Islander's goal was Hailey Sutton who is in her junior season with TAMU-CC.
 
TAMU-CC opened up the 2015 season at the Las Vegas Invitational where it played UNLV and Southern Utah. The contest against Texas State marks the second of three straight to open the home schedule. The Islanders fell in the home opener to Rice by a 2-0 margin.
 
The Islanders are led by Shanna Caldwell who led the first women's soccer team in school history back in 2013.
 
A Look At The Competition – Prairie View A&MPrairie View A&M enters into the weekend with a 1-1-1 overall record. After falling to McNeese State by a score of 5-0 in the season opener, the Panthers have posted a tie and a victory before traveling to San Marcos Sunday.
 
The lone victory of the season for the Panthers was against Incarnate Word last Sunday. Alicia Cooper scored all three goals against Incarnate Word in a matter of just over four minutes to lift the Panthers to a 3-2 victory. Cooper leads the team with seven total points as she recorded an assist against UT Rio Grande Valley. The 2015 season marks her second season with the Panthers.
 
Prairie View A&M is led by Abe Garcia who is currently in his eighth season at the helm of the Panther squad.
