SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's tennis team closes out its 2015 regular season schedule with a pair of home matches this week at the Bobcat Tennis Complex. Texas State will host I-35 rival UTSA on Thursday beginning at 1 p.m. and close out the regular season against Midwestern State beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Texas State enter Thursday's match against UTSA with a 6-6 overall record after winning two of their three matches against Sun Belt Conference teams in Arlington, Texas last Thursday and Friday. The Bobcats began last week with a 4-1 victory over Arkansas State and a 4-0 triumph over UL Lafayette at the UTA Tennis Complex on Thursday and Friday. Â Those two wins were Texas State's first victories against SBC teams this season and the first wins in matches played outside of San Marcos this spring.

The Bobcats enter Thursday's match with a three-match winning streak and 4-1 record in home matches this season after defeating Missouri State 6-1 on March 11. Texas State also recorded back-to-back wins against UT Pan American and Northwestern State on Feb. 20-21.

Individually, senior
Shannon Beckett enters Thursday's match against UTSA having won five straight matches after posting wins against Arkansas State and the Ragin' Cajuns on the No. 5 court.

Monica Pieratt to win a pair of No. 3 doubles matches against the Red Wolves and ULM.

Pippa Carr and
Ana Laura Gutierrez enter Thursday with a three-match winning streak in No. 2 doubles matches after winning all three of their matches last weekend. They won an 8-4 decision against Arkansas State and posted a pair of 8-7 victories over Louisiana and ULM.

UTSA enters Thursday's match with a 10-11 record after defeating Southern Miss by a score of 5-2. Miriam Rosell Canudas has a 13-4 record this season to lead the Roadrunners, while Irene Gandara Gonzalez owns a 13-7 mark.

Midwestern State is ranked No. 14 in the latest ITA NCAA Division II poll and enters Saturday's match with a 12-5 overall record after defeating Northeastern Oklahoma State, 5-4 last Tuesday. Paige Boykin leads the Mustangs with a 13-3 record this spring, while Lindsay Nochowicz is 12-3. In addition, Courtney Anderson has an 11-1 mark and Taylor Coffman owns a 10-4 record.

Following Saturday's match, the Bobcats will travel to New Orleans for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on April 16-19 at the City Park Tennis Center.
