SAN MARCOS, Texas – After taking a week off of play, the Texas State women's basketball team welcomes Troy Thursday evening for the first of two straight home contests to conclude the 2014-15 home schedule.

Texas State enters the contest currently in sole possession of fourth place in the Sun Belt Conference with a 10-6 conference record. Troy, with a 12-5 conference mark, is in third place in the league.

A Look At The Competition
With a 17-9 overall record, the Troy Trojans enter Thursday's contest riding on a five-game winning streak. Last week, the Trojans won an overtime contest against Georgia Southern before knocking off Sun Belt lead UALR at home.

The 17 victories this season for Troy marks the highest win total for the program since the 1996-97 season when that NCAA Tournament team finished 23-7. The 12 conference victories for Troy is the highest win total since being a member of the Sun Belt and one more victory would tie the program record for wins in any conference.

Against Georgia Southern, Ashley Beverly-Kelley scored a career-high 46 points, which also marked as the most scored by an NCAA Division I Player this season. She has now scored 20-plus in seven of her last eight games and leads the league in scoring in SBC play with 20.5 points per game. She was named the Sun Belt Conference player of the week after her efforts this past weekend.

In the preseason, the Trojans were picked to finish fifth in the SBC. The Trojans are under the direction of Chanda Rigby who is currently in her third season at the helm.

Bobcat Tidbits
The two games this week are the final two home games on the 2014-15 schedule. The Bobcats will honor Meghan Braeuer, Jacqueline Jeffcoat, and Kileah Mays on senior day against Arkansas State.

Junior guards Erin Peoples and Ayriel Anderson are quickly moving up the all-time lists at Texas State. Anderson, is now sixth all-time in three-pointers made with 122. Two more made three's and she will move up into the top five all-time.

Peoples has now moved into third all-time in blocked shots at Texas State and if she records two more, she will move into second. She also currently sits ninth on the all-time steals chart at Texas State with 151.

Peoples is also just 70 points away from scoring 1,000 points in her career at Texas State. She has scored 322 this season which is just 13 points shy away from her season-high scored during her sophomore year.

Texas State was picked to finish third in the SBC after finishing in a tie for third-place last season. The Bobcats look to improve upon last season's semifinal finish at the conference tournament and first-ever WBI appearance, the first postseason appearance for Texas State since the 2008 season.

This preseason, juniors Peoples and Anderson were both chosen to All-SBC Preseason Teams. Peoples, a 6-0 guard from Little Rock, Ark., was named to the First-Team while Anderson, a 5-3 guard from Irving, Texas, was named to the Third-Team.

The Bobcats are led by head coach Zenarae Antoine who is currently in her fourth season at the helm of Texas State.
