SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's tennis team returns to action this Friday and Saturday morning when the Bobcats host a pair of matches at the Bobcat Tennis Complex. Texas State will host UT Pan American on Friday at 9:30 a.m. The Bobcats also play former conference foe Northwestern State on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
 
Texas State enters this weekend looking for its second win of the season when the Bobcats play against the Broncs. The Bobcats are 1-3 overall after splitting a pair of matches last weekend. Texas State defeated Incarnate Word 5-2 last Saturday before dropping a 6-0 decision against South Alabama on Sunday.
 
Senior Monica Pieratt, who won her first No. 1 singles match of her career at Texas State last Saturday, enters Friday's match with a 1-2 record. Ana Laura Gutierrez has a 2-2 record in No. 2 singles matches and Katy Collins is 2-0 in No. 6 matches. Pieratt and Shannon Beckett have combined for a 3-=1 record in doubles matches this spring, while Collins and Eva Dench are 1-1 this spring.
 
UTPA enters the match with a 3-4 overall record after dropping a 7-0 decision against UT Arlington in San Antonio last Saturday and suffering a 6-1 loss against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Feb. 8.
 
Katia Stavroulaki leads the Broncs with a 10-7 overall record that includes a 5-2 mark in dual matches this spring. She owns a 3-2 record in No. 1 singles matches. Reegan Greenwood and Mariana Ranzahuer won 3-3 marks in dual matches this spring. Stavroulaki and Greenwood own a 2-3 record in doubles play this spring, while Dominique Esparza and Ranzahuer have combined for a 3-2 mark.
 
Northwestern State has a 1-4 record this spring after suffering a 6-0 loss against SMU last Sunday and defeating North Texas, 4-3, last Saturday in Dallas. Tatiana Lariana, who has a 2-3 record in No. 1 singles matches, leads the Demons. She also has teamed with Aliona Ladutska for a 2-1 mark in No. 1 doubles matches. Natalya Krutova is 2-3 in No. 2 singles, while Polina Ivanova owns a 2-2 mark in singles matches.
