SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's soccer team continues its road stand this upcoming weekend with a pair of matches against Troy and South Alabama. Kick-off against the Trojans Friday evening is scheduled for 7 p.m. and Sunday's match against the Jaguars will begin at 1 p.m.
 
Texas State is coming off of a defeat to Appalachian State last weekend, snapping its seven-match winning streak. The Bobcats are currently 8-3-0 this year with a 2-1-0 conference record.
 
Lauren Prater leads the Bobcats with eight goals and Lynsey Curry has recorded five. In her career, Curry has recorded 24 goals, ranking her fourth all-time at Texas State.
 
Last year, the Bobcats defeated Troy in its first meeting during the conference season before falling in the conference semifinal match to the Trojans. South Alabama defeated the Bobcats 1-0 in overtime last season in San Marcos.
 
A Look At The Competition - Troy
The Troy Trojans enter the third weekend of conference play with a 9-3 overall record and 2-1 mark in the Sun Belt Conference. The lone defeat in conference play this year was in the conference opener against South Alabama.
 
The Trojans have scored 20 goals this year and are led offensively by Alissa Jones and Chelsey Williams with four goals each.
 
Mikki Lewis, the conference's preseason goalkeeper of the year, has played and started in 10 games for the Trojans and owns a 0.74 goals against average with 43 total saves. Troy has six shutouts this regular season including the last two games against UL Lafayette and UL Monroe.
 
Jason Hamilton is the head coach of the Trojans and is currently in his second season at the helm of the Troy program.
 
A Look At The Competition – South Alabama
South Alabama comes into the weekend with a 9-2-1 overall record and a perfect 3-0-0 record in conference play. The Jaguars have only fallen to South Florida and No. 9 Auburn this season.
 
The Jaguars have scored 28 goals this season compared to just 12 by their opponents. Charde Hannah leads the team offensively with six goals, three assists and 15 total points. She was recently named the Sun Belt Conference Student-Athlete of the Week.
 
South Alabama is under the direction of Graham Winkworth who is currently in his third season as the Jaguars head coach.
