SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team preps to hit the road for one final time during the regular season with a pair of match-ups against UL Lafayette and UL Monroe Friday and Sunday. Kick-off against the Ragin' Cajuns is set for 7 p.m. Friday night while the contest against UL Monroe will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday.
 
Texas State is on a three-match skid, beginning on its first conference road match against Appalachian State. Last weekend, the Bobcats fell to Troy and South Alabama, also on the road.
 
Lauren Prater leads the Bobcats this season in goals scored with eight. She is followed closely behind by Lynsey Curry who recorded her sixth goal of the season last Sunday against the Jaguars. Curry enters into the weekend with 25 career goals scored and 60 total points.
 
A Look At The Competition – UL Lafayette
UL Lafayette enters the weekend with an 8-6-2 overall record and 2-3-1 mark in Sun Belt Conference play. Victories for the Ragin' Cajuns in conference play include the conference opener against Georgia Southern and last weekend's victory over Arkansas State.
 
Most recently, the Ragin' Cajuns earned one point against Little Rock in a 1-1 draw.
 
In all this season, the Ragin' Cajuns have scored 21 points compared to 17 by their opponents. Annika Schmidt leads UL Lafayette with six goals scored this season. Cosette Morche has put in the majority of the minutes at goal with 1110. She has allowed 12 goals this year and has a team-high 82 saves.
 
A Look At The Competition – UL Monroe
The UL Monroe Warhawks are currently 6-10-1 overall and a winless 0-6-0 in Sun Belt Conference play. UL Monroe has scored 21 goals this season while allowing 21 by their opponents.
 
Mariah Mitchell leads the squad with four goals while Karlea Fehr and Kelly O'Dwyer have notched three so far this year.  The Warhawks have two goalkeepers that have split duty this season. Julia Gonzalez owns a 0.70 goals against average in nine matches and Brooke Scroggins has allowed 16 goals in 12 matches.
 
Since joining the Sun Belt, Texas State has never defeated the Warhawks. The last Bobcat victory came in the 2005 season against UL Monroe.
