Kassi Hormuth each scored their second goals of the season in front of a sellout crowd of over 500 fans.
The Bobcats started off strong, maintaining the majority of the possession in the first half. In the 12
th minute, senior
Jourdan Brown served a ball from just outside the center circle to Hale, who connected and put it in the back left corner of the net.
The remainder of the first half continued to be in favor of the Bobcats as they recorded nine total shots while limiting the Islanders to just one.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi opened up the second half on the attack, recording their second shot in the game in just the first couple of minutes of the half.
With 39 minutes remaining in regulation, Brown once again was presented with an opportunity to serve the ball from the midfield with junior
Lynsey Curry on the receiving end. Curry's header, however, flew inches wide of the right goal post.
In the 60
th minute of the contest, Hormuth, a freshman out of Cedar Park, Texas, weaved in and out of defenders after a throw-in to score from just in front of the goal, giving Texas State a 2-0 advantage.
The remainder of the game continued to stay in the Bobcats favor, as Texas State was able to fire off 13 shots in the second half. The Bobcats concluded the contest with 22 compared to just four by the Islanders.
Curry led all players on the field with eight shots while Hale recorded four.
Caitlynn Rinehart recorded her second shutout this season while improving to 2-0-1. She also recorded one save on the evening.
Texas State was able to hold the Islanders cornerless on the evening while tallying five.
