Â
After getting out of a jam in the top of the first, Texas State entered the bottom half of the inning on an even playing field against the Aggies (17-4). Baker got the ball rolling for the Bobcats, hitting a bloop single over the second baseman's head to make her way to the bases. Three batters later,
Courtney Harris stepped up to the plate to hit the second bloop single of the inning over the shortstop's head, scoring
Kelli Baker who was standing on second.
Â
The Aggies then capitalized on a pair of Bobcat errors in the top of the second, scoring four to take over the lead of the game.
Â
Baker's home run in the bottom of the third brought the Bobcats within four of the Aggies and would prove to be the final Texas State run of the contest. Â
Â
Courtney Harris halted the Aggies from adding more in the top of the seventh, catching a rocket down the line. With a runner on third, Texas A&M got caught up after Harris's quick snag as the junior third baseman stepped on the bag for the second out of the double-play.
