DENTON, Texas – Behind a career-breaking afternoon by senior
Rayn House on the mound, the Texas State softball team picked up victory number 11 after defeating Prairie View A&M by a score of 6-0 at the Texas Shootout on Saturday. House earned her eighth victory of the season while striking out a career-high 15 Panther batters.

Texas State got the ball rolling early in the contest, scoring three runs in the bottom of the second inning. After
Delia Saucedo reached base on a Panther error, catcher
Katie Doerre hit her second home run of the season to put the Bobcats on the board. With two outs,
Kelli Baker drew a walk and stole a base that put her in scoring position for
Timishia North who was standing at the plate. North proceeded to hit a single to the second baseman, scoring Baker for the third Bobcat run of the inning.

Coralee Ramirez continued her hot bat from yesterday's action, ripping a double to right center in the bottom of the third inning. Saucedo then added the fourth Bobcat run of the game by driving Ramirez home on a double.

After a scoreless fourth for both teams, Texas State added to its lead once again from a two-run shot by junior
Kortney Koroll in the bottom of the fifth. It was Koroll's team-high third home run of the season.

Although House allowed three hits, no base runner for Prairie View A&M advanced beyond second base throughout the entirety of the game.

House allowed just one walk in her fourth shutout of the 2014 season. She has lowered her ERA to 1.62 and she owns a team-high 68 strikeouts.

Texas State has earned the No. 2 seed heading into the final game tomorrow after wrapping up the previous three days with a 3-1 record. The Bobcats will take on No. 1 seed North Texas at 11:30 a.m. More information and final scores from the Texas Shootout can be found
