Soccer Concludes Home Slate This Weekend

SAN MARCOS, Texas – This weekend, the Texas State soccer team will welcome UL Monroe and UL Lafayette for the final home games of the 2014 season. The Bobcats will recognize Friday evening as the 2014 Pink Game while Sunday afternoon marks senior day for Texas State.
 
Bobcat Tidbits
The Bobcats 9-4-1 start is the best start since the 2001 season. Texas State's 4-1 conference mark is the best conference start since 2011.

Texas State is currently sitting in a tie for second place with 12 points along side conference newcomer Georgia Southern. South Alabama, with 13 points, currently is sitting in first place.
 
Head coach Kat Conner is seeking her 166th career victory against South Alabama on Friday evening. She has been the sole coach for the Texas State Soccer program. Against Appalachian State, Conner tallied her 100th conference victory.
 
13673A Look At The Competition – UL Monroe
The Warhawks come into San Marcos with a 1-5 conference mark and 7-8-1 overall record. The lone conference victory for the Warhawks was against Georgia State on Sept. 28 at home.
 
Jenna Pillon leads the Warhawks this season in goals with seven. Karlea Fehr is also an offensive threat for UL Monroe as she has scored six goals and has earned a team-high eight assists.
 
UL Monroe, earlier this season, led the nation in assists. The Warhawks have 48 total assists on 33 goals at current rank of fourth in the nation with 3.13 assists per match.
 
Katherine Werther is the primary goalkeeper for the Warhawks as she has put in almost 1,000 minutes in goal. She has allowed 19 goals and owns a .768 save percentage.
 
8914A Look At The Competition – UL Lafayette
Entering the weekend, the Ragin' Cajuns own a 7-6-2 overall record and 2-3-1 mark in the Sun Belt Conference. The two conference victories for UL Lafayette are against UALR and Arkansas State.
 
Danielle DeRosa, Yazmin Montoya, and Annika Schmidt lead the Ragin' Cajun offense with a combined 18 goals. Eight players have scored multiple goals this season.
 
Alexias Stricklin has played in 14 games and started in 13 for the Ragin' Cajuns in goal this season. She has allowed 22 goals for a 1.98 goals against average and has saved 51 shots.
 
Final Details
