Logan, Utah – Texas State earned the series win over Utah State, but fell to the Aggies 5-2 in the final game of the regular season. Utah State won the final game of the series at Johnson Field to end its season with a victory. The Bobcats swept yesterday's doubleheader 14-0 and 9-8.

Utah State took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. With runners on second and third, Samantha Miller hit a sacrifice fly to left field which scored Jolene Koons for the one-run lead.

It took the Bobcats a few innings to get on the scoreboard, but after Haley Lemons was hit by a pitch to lead off the fourth inning, she advanced home on an RBI double by Courtney Harris to tie the game at 1-All.

The Aggies came back in the bottom of the fourth to take a 3-1 lead when a pair of runners were able to score on a dropped infield fly.

It was déjà vu in the sixth inning, as Lemons was able to score on an RBI double by Harris for the second time in the game. The run cut the Aggies lead to 3-2.

Utah State responded in the bottom of the sixth inning with two runs to take a 5-2 edge into the seventh inning. Texas State had a pair of hits in the top of the seventh, but it was unable to muster a comeback.

The Aggies outhit Texas State 10-7. Harris finished 2-for-3 with two RBI. Kelli Baker went 2-for-4.

Shelbi Tyteca earned the win after 6.0 innings in the circle. Noelle Johnson was credited with the win. Texas State's Ashley Wright was handed the loss after a complete game effort. Wright had one strikeout with one earned run.

Texas State will play UTSA in the first game of the 2013 WAC Softball Tournament, which will we be hosted by Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La. The double-elimination tournament will be held May 8-11 at the Lady Techster Softball Complex on the Louisiana Tech campus.  Every game of the tournament can be viewed for a single subscription price of $9.95.
