Logan, Utah – The Texas State women's tennis team won four singles matches en route to winning their fourth Western Athletic Conference match of the season with a 4-3 victory over Utah State at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Bobcats opened the day dropping a team doubles point when Jessica Kahts and Monica Pieratt dropped an 8-2 decision against McKenzie Davis and Jaci West in the No. 1 match and Melissa Hadad and Mariana Perez suffered a hard-fought 8-6 setback against Kallie Sperry and Kristina Voytsekhovich.
 
However, the Bobcats came back to capture the victory when Pieratt won a 6-0, 6-3 decision over Voytsekhovich, 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 3 match. Rachel Baldree also scored a 6-2, 6-1 triumph over Sperry in the No. 4 match. Perez came back from her hard fought loss to defeat Hillary Hays by the score of 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 5 match, while Bérénice Van den Bergh beat Ashley Stuhlmann by the score of 6-4, 7-5.
 
Texas State also put up valiant efforts in the top two matches as Kahts suffered a 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 setback against Davis in the No. 1 match and Hadad was edged 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 in her No. 2 match against West.
 
The victory improves Texas State's overall record to 6-7 and gives the Bobcats a 4-4 mark against WAC teams this season. The Aggies fell to 4-9 overall and 0-4 in WAC matches this season.
