San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State seniors played their last game in style, as they led the Bobcats to a 10-2 run rule of second place San Jose State (36-15, 14-4 WAC). Texas State (14-35, 8-10 WAC) used a five-run fifth inning charge to come away with the victory.

After back-to-back walks to start the bottom of the first inning, Haley Lemons reached base on an error by the San Jose State third baseman to load the bases. The Bobcats were able to score their first run on a sacrifice fly by Courtney Harris. Anna Hernandez stepped to the plate next and laid down a successful bunt that allowed Jordan Masek to score on the squeeze play and give Texas State a 2-0 lead.

Texas State was able to take advantage of a few wild pitches and a throwing error by the San Jose State catcher that led to a total of three runs scored for the Bobcats in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Bobcats weren't quite done as they tacked on five runs in the fifth inning, including a three-run double by Harris to end the game.

Texas State out-hit San Jose State 7-5. Harris went 2-for-2 from the plate with five RBIs. Five different players recorded a hit for the Spartans.
