Austin, Texas – Today was game one of a three-game weekend series between Texas State and No. 10/11 Texas. The Longhorns captured the 7-0 victory over the Bobcats at McCombs Field.

Texas' first run of the game came on a Taylor Hoagland solo home run in the first inning. The Longhorns tacked on four more runs in the third inning after a pair of homers gave them a 5-0 lead through three innings.

A double to left center by Haley Lemons in the fourth inning was the Bobcats first hit of the game.

UT's Taylor Thom recorded a two-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning to extend the home team's lead to 7-0.

Lemons registered her second hit of the game with a bunt in the sixth inning as she gave Texas State its only two hits of the game.

Ashley Wright suffered the loss in the circle after 2.0 innings pitched.

The Bobcats will host the Longhorns on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium, and will return to McCombs Field on Sunday for 3 p.m. game versus Texas.
