Senior righty
Mitchell Pitts (0-1, 4.50 ERA) will be the first to get a crack at the Ducks while Texas State will face Jeff Gold (2-0, 0.51 ERA). Pitchers for Wednesday will be named later.
Senior designated hitter/catcher
Andrew Stumph has currently reached base in seven consecutive games and will look to keep that alive against Oregon. First baseman
Ben McElroy has a hit in two consecutive games to lead the team.
Oregon dropped two of three at home against Vanderbilt this past weekend, but before that won three in a row and six of eight.
So far on the current road trip, McElroy leads the team in batting average at .333. McElroy and
Cory Geisler are the only two Bobcats with multiple RBI on the trip while
Garrett Mattlage and
Kevin Sah join McElroy on top of the hitting list with three hits apiece.
After these two midweek games against Oregon, Texas State returns to Bobcat Ballpark to host former Southland Conference rival Texas A&M-Corpus Christi over the weekend.
