San Marcos, Texas –
The Texas State soccer team had a strong effort in the second 45 minutes, but it was not enough as the Bobcats fell to Central Michigan, 2-0. In the second half, the Bobcats outshot the Chippewas 6-4.

Gabbi Cottee had one of the best plays of the night, just 30 seconds into the second half. Cottee dribbled through the upper third, and ripped a shot towards the goal, but it deflected off the cross bar and was cleared out by the CMU defense.

Lynsey Curry had a similar effort later in the second period, ripping a shot that appeared to be headed for the goal, but the Central Michigan goalkeeper moved to her left to stop the shot.

Central Michigan scored first, just 11 minutes into the game. The CMU forward ripped a shot from 30 yards out that sailed just over the outstretched reach of Natalie Gardini.

Four minutes later, the Chippewas made it 2-0 after a ball was tapped into the penalty box and sent to the left corner of the net.

The Bobcats will next be in action at 1:00 p.m., on Sunday in Fort Worth, when they take on TCU.
