San Marcos, Texas –
After a few weeks of frustration offensively, the Texas State soccer team got out of its slump with a 6-0 win over Texas Southern Friday night at the Bobcat Soccer Complex. Tori Hale led the way for Texas State with two goals and two assists

Lynsey Curry scored her first career goal, two minutes into the match. Tori Hale got a ball at midfield and tapped it over to Curry who had a breakaway, which she converted for her first career goal. Coming into the game, Curry had attempted 25 shots without a goal.

Hale then added a goal 10 minutes later, when Emma Stlaey crossed a pass across the field and ended up on the opposite corner. Hale saw the keeper out of position and tapped it in for the goal. Her second goal of the game came with 12 minutes to go in the first half. She took a shot from about 25 yards out and bent it inside the left post for her third goal of the year.

Other Bobcats got into the act later in the second half. First Serena Hines received a pass in the center of the goal box from Sydney Curry who put it past the goalkeeper for her second goal of the year. The team's final goal came when Gabbi Cottee went on a breakaway away used moves to get the goalkeeper leaning the wrong way, and put it past her for a 6-0 lead.

Texas State will now turn its attention to WAC play beginning next Friday at 7 p.m., at the Bobcat Soccer Complex as they take on Idaho. It will be the first ever meeting between the Bobcats and Vandals.
