Soccer Falls Late to Army, 2-1

The Texas State soccer team surrendered a goal in the 79th minute, that proved to be the difference, Friday night against Army in El Paso. The Black Knights' forward Joey Molacek received a cross and put it in the goal for her second of the night.

 

Texas State got on the board in the 54th minute, just three minutes after Army took a 1-0 lead. Tori Hale had an assist in her second straight game, crossing the ball to Taylor Person who slid in the box to finish the shot off and tie the game at 1-1.

 

Overall, Texas State owned an 11-7 shot advantage. Sydney Curry had the most shots of any Bobcat, with three on the night, giving her five over the last two games.

 

Texas State will next have its home opener, Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 7:00 p.m., against Prairie View A&M. It is the second straight year the Bobcats have hosted the Panthers in their home opener. Last year, Texas State won the game 6-0.
