San Marcos, Texas – Southland Conference action continues this weekend at Bobcat Ballpark when No. 20 Texas State welcomes Stephen F. Austin for rematch of last season's Southland Conference Tournament championship game. The Bobcats and Lumberjacks will begin the three-game set on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. before playing on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
Texas State (11-5) enters the weekend after a midweek defeat against No. 30 Texas on Tuesday. The Bobcats will look to improve on their 2-1 record in conference play.
Stephen F. Austin (6-10) was picked to finish second in the conference preseason polls but has gotten off to a slow start in 2011. The Lumberjacks have lost three of their last five games and went 1-2 against Sam Houston State last weekend to begin the SLC season.
The Bobcats have a 15-8 record against Stephen F. Austin since head coach Ty Harrington took over in 2000, including last year's 9-0 win to secure the team's fourth Southland Conference Tournament title.
Texas State will look for another great crowd at Bobcat Ballpark after having three of its top-10 attendances all-time already this season. Fans can purchase tickets in advance for Tuesday's game by visiting www.TxStateBobcats.com/tickets or calling 245-2272.
Live coverage of the game will also be available through www.TxStateBobcats.com and includes video, audio and live stats. In addition, frequent in-game updates will be provided through the baseball Twitter account - @TxStateBaseball.
