San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State soccer team plays two games this week, beginning with its final home game of the year on Friday against New Mexico State. Two days later the Bobcats will be in Denver to take on the Pioneers. Both matchups will be the first meetings for the Bobcats against the WAC opponents.
Texas State enters the weekend fifth place in the current WAC standings at 2-3-0. The top six teams reach the WAC Tournament in two weeks in Logan, Utah. The Bobcats are led by Tori Hale and Lynsey Curry up front, each with four goals.
New Mexico State comes into the weekend in need of wins to reach the tournament at 0-3-1. The Aggies won their last game against Cal State Bakersfield, 1-0.
Denver is receiving votes in the NSCAA Coaches top 25 poll, coming in at 28th overall. The Pioneers are 2-0-2 in the WAC, currently third overall.
