Women's Tennis Season Ends Against UT-Arlington

San Antonio, Texas –
The Texas State women's tennis team lost 4-0 against UT-Arlington, ending the 2010-11 season for the Bobcats. The team finished 12-8, winning six of its last seven.

At the time the match was halted due to UTA clinching, Jessica Kahts was up in her match 6-3, 2-3 over Daiana Negreanu at the No. 1 spot.

In doubles Gabirela Rojas and Berenice Van den Bergh were leading 7-6 at the No. 2 spot in doubles over the Mavericks' Maria Martinez and Nikola Matovicova when the match was stopped due to UTA winning the doubles point 2-0 at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots.

“We have freshmen and sophomores,” head coach Tory Plunkett said. “Our goal at the beginning of the season was to compete for the championship in the conference tournament and we came very close to achieving that goal. We've improved from the beginning of the semester to the end and I'm proud of my team for that.”
