After a torrid run over the last two months, the Texas State soccer team had its dream season come to an end Saturday, falling 3-0 to Baylor, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Waco.

 

Baylor's initialgoal came with 23 minutes left in the first half. Bear forward Vic Hoffman dribbled down the right center of the field and sent a leading pass to Lisa Silwinski who beat Lauren Frazier for the first goal of the day.

 

Texas State had its best chance of the day a minute into the second half when Emma Staley had a free kick outside the 18-yard box, but the kick was blocked and cleared, before the Bobcats could get a shot off.

 

The Bears scored their second goal in the 58th minute, when Dana Larsen crossed the ball in front of the goal to Hanna Gilmore who put it past Frazier for the 2-0 lead.

Baylor's final goal came with three minutes left, to end the total at 3-0.

 

Texas State's season ends at 14-6-1. The Bobcats'14 wins ties the school record for most in a season, and they end the year, with the 30th most wins in the country over the last four years with 53. The team will say goodbye to seniors Kelsey Bernard, Kendell Webber, Erica Michaud, Deborah Ross, Lauren Frazier and Katie Herrick who end their careers as the winningest senior class in program history.
