Fort Worth, Texas – Bobcat soccer continued its winning ways this afternoon with a 3-0 victory over TCU in front of the third largest crowd in Horned Frogs History. Texas State jumped out to an early lead and did not relinquish it, as the Bobcats (6-4-0) improved their win streak to four games. The Horned Frogs fall to 5-5-1.
With less than two minutes running off the clock, senior forward Britney Curry recorded the first goal of the game when she kicked the ball to the right hand side of the box to give Texas State a 1-0 lead.
Sophomore midfielder Taylor Kelley was in the right spot at the right time, when a shot by Curry was deflected off the post and Kelley was there to put it in the net for the second goal of the game.
Scoring the final goal of the game for Texas State was sophomore defender Taylor Person. Two minutes after the half, Person nailed a shot from 25 yards out to give the Bobcats a three goal lead.
Lauren Frazier picked up her sixth win of the season, while recording five saves against TCU. Curry is on a five-game scoring streak, to improve her goals per game average to 0.90.
Texas State starts Southland Conference play on Friday, Oct. 1 with a 7:00 p.m. game versus UTSA in San Antonio.
