Women’s Soccer Falls 2-1 at Louisiana Tech

Texas State soccer dropped a 2-1 decision against Louisiana Tech this afternoon on the road. The Bobcats fall to 2-4-0 overall, while Louisiana Tech picked up its fourth straight win to improve to 6-2-0.

The Bobcats lone goal of the game came in the 86th minute courtesy of Britney Curry, who put the ball in from ten yards out off an assist from Felicia Leask.

Both teams battled back in fourth for the majority of the first period, before the Lady Techsters took a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute when Kiva Gresham headed the ball in with an assist from Paige Dunn. Louisiana Tech scored its second goal of the game in the second half when Scotti Culton recorded a shot from 20 yards out and it deflected off the crossbar and went in to give the Lady Techsters a 2-0 lead.

Texas State will play again on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 1:00 p.m. against Grambling State. The Lady Tigers (0-3-0) are looking for their first win of the season, after suffering losses to Louisiana Tech, McNeese State and UTSA. This weekend's match will mark the second overall meeting between the two teams. Texas State beat Grambling State 4-0 at home last year.

Texas State will return to San Marcos on Friday, Sept. 17 to host Prairie View A&M at 7:00 p.m. at Bobcat Soccer Stadium. The Bobcats will then hit the road to play Houston Baptist on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 1:00 p.m.
