Hancock Competes in High Jump at NCAA West Regionals

AUSTIN, Texas - Senior Valerie Hancock participated in the high jump on the final day of the NCAA Division I 2010 Outdoor Track & Field Championships -West Preliminary today at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

Hancock cleared a height of 1.74 meters (5-08.50) in the high jump to place 14th in the event. The height is .01 meters shy of Hancock's season high. Hancock ends her Texas State career as a three-time Southland Conference high jump champion. Participating at the regionals in the first two days of competition were sprinter

Kevin Aje and thrower Katy Hanie. Aje clocked a time of 10.61 seconds in the 100-meter dash quarterfinals to finish 21st overall. Hanie placed 23rd overall today in the women's discus throw with a mark of 47.23 meters (154-11) to close out her Bobcat career.
