Aje and Hanie Wrap up Day Two of NCAA West Regionals

AUSTIN, Texas -Junior sprinter Kevin Aje and senior thrower Katy Hanie competed in the second day of the NCAA Division I 2010 Outdoor Track & Field Championships -West Preliminary today at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

Aje clocked a time of 10.61 seconds in the 100-meter dash quarterfinals to finish 21st overall. He completed his junior year with a personal-best time of 10.43 seconds, which he ran at the outdoor conference meet.

Hanie placed 23rd overall today in the women's discus throw with a mark of 47.23 meters (154-11) to close out her Bobcat career. She ends her time at Texas State with the sixth-best mark in school history of 50.43 meters (165-05), which she recorded in 2007.

Participating in the high jump tomorrow will be freshman Lisa Bingham and senior Valerie Hancock. Bingham won the event at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships with a height of 1.72 meters (5-07.75). Hancock placed fourth at conference, but has a season-best height of 1.75m (5-08.50). The high jump will be held on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
