Women's Soccer Falls 1-0 to Stephen F. Austin

– The Texas State women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Stephen F. Austin Friday night at the SFA soccer complex. With the loss Texas State is now 10-7-1 overall and 4-3-1 in Southland Conference play.

Stephen F. Austin got on the board first in the 11th minute when Kim Kimmel was able to split two Bobcat defenders and put it on the ground past Natalie Gardini.

Texas State's best offensive opportunity came when the Curry sisters were involved. Britney passed it to Sydney on the outside who put it towards the goal, but it was deflected just wide. For the night Sydney was the leading shooter for the Bobcats with three on the night, two of which were on goal.

In the second half Britney sent a crossing pass into Kelsie Townsend who had the closest shot of the night to-date, sending a shot just high, keeping the score at 1-0.

For the second half, the team outshot SFA 4-0, after the Lumberjacks had put up 11 shots in the first half. For the game shots were in favor of SFA, 11-10.

The Bobcats will now wrap up the regular season Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. against Sam Houston State in Huntsville, before returning home to host the SLC Tournament Nov. 4-7.
