Bobcat Soccer Blanks Northwestern State 2-0

- Texas State soccer completed a weekend sweep with a 2-0 victory over Northwestern State this afternoon at the Bobcat Soccer Complex. The Bobcats improve their overall record to 8-5-0 and 2-1-0 in Southland Conference play.

Kelsey Bernard dribbled the ball down the left side before finding Britney Curry right in front of the keeper for the Bobcats first goal of the game. Curry's game winning goal came from five yards out to put Texas State up 1-0 within the first three minutes.

Jessica Elting netted the Bobcats second goal with a free kick from about 30 yards out that found the back left side of the net.

Texas State will travel to Beaumont, Texas on Friday, Oct. 15 to face Lamar at 7 p.m. The Bobcats will continue their road stand on Sunday, with a trip to Lake Charles for a 1 p.m. game against McNeese State.

“I'm very proud of our team and the way they have played,” said head coach Kat Conner. “Everyone knows that we are a good so we have to bring our A game each time. You have to give Northwestern credit; they are going to fight like no other every time.”
