Texas State Athletics is committed to the transition of our student-athletes to be career ready once they have graduated and exhausted their athletic eligibility.  Below are some examples of the resources and programs that the student-athletes have access to during their careers:

Texas State Career Services
Texas State Athletics works to enhance student-athlete career development by collaborating with the Career Services Office. The partnership supports a liaison in the Career Services Office dedicated to working with student-athletes. To assist with cover letter, resumes, interviewing, job fairs and events.

Athlete Network

Join a professional networking website of over 150,000 members from over 1,400 colleges and universities of current and former college athletes to:

  1. Build your network with professionals and mentors in your field
  2. Connect with 100's of employers to create professional opportunities such as jobs and internships
  3. Gain access to career advice, professional groups, and current trends in your field
  4. Create your professional brand and online presence with other athletes to advance your career
 
Resume and interview workshops – There are multiple workshops throughout the year to assist student-athletes with creating effective cover letters and resumes.  One on one assistance is also available.

Etiquette/Networking Dinner – Every fall and spring term Texas State Athletics  organizes provides student-athletes the opportunity to learn to dine as professionals, practice proper table etiquette, interviewing and networking techniques, and make a great first impression.

How to Manage your Money Workshop - Student-athletes will receive professional advice on how to manage and save income once they start receiving paychecks as professionals.  They will also receive advice on how to build credit and avoid unmanageable debt.
