LAFAYETTE, La. - 15th-ranked Texas State suffered its first loss of the season on Thursday night, when former conference foe Louisiana defeated the Bobcats in an evenly fought battle by a score of 3-2 at the Home Bank Soccer and Track Complex.
The Ragin' Cajuns opened the scoring in the 16th minute when its goal-leader Miku Kurihara found the net, before 15th-ranked Texas State responded quickly by way of
Marivic Lek-Miro's first goal as a Bobcat knotted the score at one just a minute later.
Helen Alormenu was credited with her first assist of her junior campaign.
Louisiana would strike again in the 27th minute to take a one-score lead into halftime.
After the break, Ragin' Cajun forward Carson Glenn tallied her second goal of the evening to extend the lead for Louisiana in the 51st minute, 3-1.

Jenny Ngankem cut the deficit in the 66th minute for her second goal of the season, assisted by
Matsuri Tsutsui's team-best fourth of the campaign.
Glenn's brace proved to be the difference in the back-and-forth battle between former conference foes, but the Bobcats were issued its first loss of 2026. The Cajuns outshot the Bobcats 13-12 while the teams were even among shots on target, 6-6.
The result snapped the Bobcats' third-longest winning streak in program history at six consecutive victories, following a start that tied the best in program history.

The Bobcats will stay in the Pelican State to take on Louisiana Tech on Sunday, Sept. 13. Kickoff in Ruston is slated for 7:00 p.m. (CT).
