Texas State Earns First-Ever No. 21 National Ranking in IWSOC/USC Coaches Poll

SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization and United Soccer Coaches released their Top-25 Coaches Poll on Tuesday, with Texas State coming in at No. 21 nationally. It marks the first-ever national ranking in program history.

The Bobcats earned the historic ranking after securing two victories over Power 4 opponents last week. Texas State first defeated Texas A&M at the Bobcat Soccer Complex for the program's first win over an SEC opponent before traveling to Waco and taking down No. 6 Baylor for the first ranked victory in program history. The back-to-back wins also marked the first time the Bobcats have defeated Power 4 opponents in consecutive matches.

With the victories, Texas State remains unbeaten through the first four games of the 2026 campaign for the second consecutive season. After ranking fifth nationally in goals through the first four games of the 2025 season, the Bobcats went on to make the sixth NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and the first under head coach Steve Holeman.

Texas State is also the highest-ranked program in the state of Texas and sits first in the Pacific Region. Additionally, the Bobcats are the first program to crack the national Top 25 as members of the new Pac-12 Conference era.

A three-match home stretch opens for Texas State on Thursday when it hosts East Texas A&M. The match starts at 7:30 p.m., admission is free and the game will be streamed live on the Pac-12 Conference YouTube channel.
