TROY, Ala. – Saturday night saw Texas State (36-24) fall 7-2 to Louisiana (39-22) at Riddle-Pace Field in the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Championship presented by Troy University.

Earning the win was Sawyer Pruitt (7-4) after he struck out eight in six innings and allowed two runs on five hits. Picking up his first save of the season was Ty Roman after he got the last six outs of the game. Jesus Tover (9-3) surrendered four runs on five hits and three walks with four punch outs to take the loss.

Cade Smith tossed a scoreless inning of relief. Striking out three was
Wade Cooper in 2.1 innings and
Kyle Froehlich's lone out recorded came via a punch out.

Going 3-for-4 and falling a triple shy of hitting for the cycle was
Manny Salas. The junior also scored two runs.
Brady Boles also went 3-for-4 with all of his base knocks being singles.
Justin Vossos plated two runs via a homer.

After a scoreless opening three innings, the Ragin' Cajuns got on the scoreboard with three runs in the fourth.

Salas would put TXST on the board in the next half inning when he led off with a solo home run. His 15th long ball of the season traveled 446 feet to centerfield and easily sailed over the batter's eye.

Louisiana added to its lead with a run in the sixth to go back up by three.

Salas doubled to left center with one gone in the bottom of the frame. He advanced to third when
Clayton Namken laced a single to right field. The junior designated hitter crossed the plate following a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 4-2.

A three-run homer from Lee Amedee in the ninth would be the deciding runs.

With one gone in the bottom of the inning,
Brady Boles laced a single through the right side of the infield. Vossos followed with a blast over the left field wall for his fifth home run of the season and cut the deficit to three runs.
Blake Beheler worked a free pass and
Brady Boles singled through the right side of the infield, but a strikeout would end the rally and the game.

The Bobcats will wait and see if they will receive an at-large bid on Monday for the NCAA Tournament.
