BOONE, N.C. – Texas State softball will close out the regular season at App State with a three-game series beginning April 30 at 5 pm (CT).
All three games will be streamed on ESPN+. After the tournament, the team will wait to find out its final seeding for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament that runs May 6-9 in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Texas State is coming off a 34-19 campaign which included a Sun Belt Conference Regular Season Championship and were named Preseason Favorites in the Sun Belt Conference Coaches Poll. Texas State returns 96.8% of its innings pitched and 75.5% of its at-bats from the 2025, championship winning season.

Ricci Woodard is in her 26th season at the helm of Texas State softball. In her tenure, Woodard has 14 conference championships and 11 NCAA Regional appearances and enters the weekend with 912 career wins.
Headed into the weekend, Texas State has a 34-18 record coming off a series sweep against Coastal Carolina in the Bobcats last home games of the season.
Currently leading the batting order for the Bobcats is Williams who's hitting .384 this season, followed by
Aiyana Coleman at .336. They are two of three Bobcats hitting over .300 this season. In addition to them it is
Harley Vestal (.331) and Kate Bubela is just shy of .300 at .296.
In the circle for the Bobcats is a 1-2 punch from Maddy Azua and
Emma Strood. Azua is coming off a two-win week to make her 23-10 on the season, the junior now having back-to-back 20-win seasons. Strood is boasting a 1.96 ERA through 89.2 innings of work so far this year.
ABOUT THE MOUNTAINEERS:
App State comes into the week with a 28-19 record on the year, sitting at 7-14 in Sun Belt play. They are coming off a three-game series where they lost two and won one against Georgia Southern.
The Mountaineers have five batters batting over .300 this season, led by Makayla McClain at .391. She has 59 hits, 61 runs, and 45 RBI this season. Towards the top of the Mountaineers order is Grace Barrett at .351, Julia Girk at .341, KB Bradshaw at .320 and Taylor Schafer at .314.
Sophie Moshos leads the bullpen for the Mountaineers with a 3.12 ERA in 146.0 innings of work. She is followed by Camryn Fisher at a 4.89 in 117.1 innings.
