SAN MARCOS, Texas– Texas State softball faces the current league leader Marshall in a three-game series this weekend, beginning March 27 at 6 pm.
This weekend is Alumni Weekend in the ballpark where we welcome back past players and coaches to celebrate with us. Saturday the team will be wearing their SWT throwback uniforms and the players in attendance will participate in the honorary first pitch.

Texas State is coming off a 34-19 campaign which included a Sun Belt Conference Regular Season Championship and were named Preseason Favorites in the Sun Belt Conference Coaches Poll. Texas State returns 96.8% of its innings pitched and 75.5% of its at-bats from the 2025, championship winning season.

Ricci Woodard is in her 26th season at the helm of Texas State softball. In her tenure, Woodard has 14 conference championships and 11 NCAA Regional appearances and enters the weekend with 898 career wins.
Headed into the week, Texas State has a 20-13 record after a midweek one-run loss to #1 Texas on Wednesday.

ABOUT THE THUNDERING HERD:
Marshall comes into the week with a 23-9 record and are 5-1 this season. Most recently, they are coming off a midweek win against Miami (OH) and are on a six-game win streak.

The Thundering Herd have five batters batting over .300 this season, led by Sydni Burko at .392. She has 38 hits, 21 runs, 12 home runs and 27 RBI this season. The top of the order is filled out by Bella Gerlach (.343), Paige Simpson (.317), Ava Blake (.311) and Chandler Hoskins (.304).
