SAN MARCOS, Texas– Texas State softball returns home to face #1 Texas in a sold out Bobcat Softball Stadium on Wednesday night.
First pitch will be at 6 pm on 'Maroon Madness' night at the ballpark, fans are encouraged to wear maroon to cheer on Texas State. The game will also be streamed on ESPN+.

ABOUT THE BOBCATS:
Texas State is coming off a 34-19 campaign which included a Sun Belt Conference Regular Season Championship and were named Preseason Favorites in the Sun Belt Conference Coaches Poll. Texas State returns 96.8% of its innings pitched and 75.5% of its at-bats from the 2025, championship winning season.

Ricci Woodard is in her 26th season at the helm of Texas State softball. In her tenure, Woodard has 14 conference championships and 11 NCAA Regional appearances and enters the weekend with 898 career wins.
Headed into the week, Texas State has a 20-12 record after a series with Louisiana on the weekend.

ABOUT THE LONGHORMS:
Texas comes into the week with a 28-1 record with their lone loss of the season being to Nebraska on Feb. 17. The Longhorns are is on a 26-game win streak and ranked #1 in the nation in the NFCA Coaches Poll.

The Longhorns have three batters batting over .500 this season, led by Katie Stewart and Leighann Goode. The pair are batting .493 while Stewart has 37 hits, 27 runs and 42 RBI on the season. Goode, similarly, has 33 hits, 32 runs and 21 RBI. Also batting over .400 is Kayden Henry at .434.
