Box Score LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – In its final regular season trip to Lafayette for Sun Belt action, Texas State fell 6-1 to the Ragin Cajuns on Sunday afternoon.

Despite scoring first on a solo home run from Kat Zarate, Louisiana scored six unanswered runs to take the series.

How it Happened: 
Texas State scored the first run of the game in the second inning off a solo home run from Kat Zarate, her 5^thof the season. 

It was the third inning, though, when Louisiana tallied five runs. Starting the inning with an error, Azua was not charged with the runs on her record. A RBI fielder's choice and a three-run home back-to-back put four on the board for the home side. The Ragin Cajuns added a fifth run on an RBI single to make it a 5-1 ball game. Kaili Witherell came into pitch, getting a fly out to end the inning. 

Neither side added a run in the fourth, but Louisiana added a sixth run in the 5^th inning on a squeeze bunt with runners in scoring position to make it 6-1. Emma Strood had come into pitch, though the run scored from her inherited runner off Witherell.

Texas State was retired in order in the sixth. The Bobcats got two base runners in the 7^th off a Megan Kelnar single and Sami Hood double, but the pair were left stranded. In the end, Louisiana held the 6-1 result to win.

After today's loss, Texas State is now 20-12 on the season and 3-3 in Sun Belt play.
