HUMBLE, Texas – The Texas State women's golf team wrapped up action at the Chevron Collegiate on Tuesday afternoon, placing 11th in the 17-team field which featured 10 teams ranked in the top 50 of the Division I rankings and five in the top 20. Freshman
Grace Quintanilla led the Bobcats with a top-five finish, her first of 2025-26.
The Bobcats, who are ranked No. 54 in the latest edition of the rankings, finished 13-over across the 54-hole event that saw No. 16 North Carolina (-18) post a six-stroke victory over No. 3 Oregon (-12). No. 20 Baylor rounded out the top three at -11.
Quintanilla (71-66-73--210) led the TXST lineup, posting her best outing of the season to tie for fourth. The freshman's tournament was highlighted by a second-round 66 and a 6-under final score, both season lows. She tied for a tournament-best 4-under on par 3s, was -2 on par 4s for the second-best total and tied for fifth, matching her season best, with 13 birdies. The finish was the second in the top 10 for Quintanilla and fifth straight in the top 25.
Yvonne Chamness (68-76-74--218) opened the tournament with her team-leading 10th round in the 60s to place tied for 33rd at +2.
TXST was also represented by
Mana Hersperger (T52, +5),
Briana LeMaire (80, +15) and
Ella Salama (T87, +22) at the event.
The Bobcats are back in action Monday for the Lady Luck Invitational hosted by UNLV at the Las Vegas Country Club.
