SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
  • Following a bye week, Texas State entered conference play at No. 22 and in its sixth consecutive week inside the national top 25. In their first-ever ranked-versus-ranked matchup, the Bobcats dropped their Pac-12 Conference opener by a 2-1 final score to No. 19 Utah State, who's in its third consecutive week in the national rankings.
  • After being named to the United Soccer Coaches Defenders to Watch List on Aug. 4, she was named to the MAC Hermann Players to Watch List on Aug. 26. The honor is the National Player of the Year award, set to release following the season on January 8, 2027. Meza is the second Bobcat in program history to be named to the prestigious watch list (Kaylie Davis, 2019), compiled of 64 Division I women's soccer athletes. She is the only Pac-12 Conference representative on the watch list and one of just five internationally born. The Sept. 30 announcement from the organizations landed Meza on the mid-season watch list for the award, being one of just 30 Division I players in the country on the list and the only Pac-12 Conference recipient.
  • Caitlyn Draper's third 11-save performance at No. 19 Utah State tied her career-high, and slingshotted up the conference leaderboard now ranking second in the Pac-12 in the category with 42 saves on the season. Draper's last 11-save night was at then-No. 13 Oklahoma State, setting up a clean sheet in the scoreless draw on Sept. 5, 2024.
  • The Bobcats bring in an impressive 26-1-0 record into conference home openers.

SCOUTING THE AZTECS
  • Just three RPI numbers behind the Bobcats (59), SDSU has put together a 6-3-1 record thus far despite dropping its Pac-12 opener to Boise State, by a 4-1 final. The Aztecs rank third among Pacific Region teams, just behind Utah State and the Bobcats.
  • Victories over UCSD, Portland State, Pacific, Utah Valley, Pepperdine, and Northern Colorado highlight the campaign alongside tough opponents in then-No. 10 Washington (L, 1-0) Oklahoma State (T, 1-1) and No. 14 Texas Tech (L, 1-2).
  • A balanced Aztec offense and back line is proven by ranking inside the current top four in the Pac-12 in goals (22), assists (20), points (64) and shutout percentage (.500).
  • The Aztecs head to Corvallis for a match with the Beavers after meeting the Bobcats.
