SAN MARCOS, Texas – The four-game road trip for the Texas State men's basketball team (9-8, 2-3 Sun Belt) wraps up on Saturday afternoon when it takes on Arkansas State (11-5, 3-1 Sun Belt). Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. from the First National Bank Arena.

About Texas State
The Bobcats went to overtime against Southern Miss for the third consecutive meeting this past Thursday that saw the Golden Eagles come out on top. Mark Drone led a contingent of four TXST players to reach double-figures with 18 points. He set a career-high with eight rebounds and matched his career best of four steals.
Drone's performance on Thursday increased his team leading scoring average to 14.5 points per game and is shooting 48.0% from the field. He has knocked down a team leading 18 three-pointers and is second on the team with 43 assists.
The only other Bobcat with a double-digit scoring mark is DJ Hall at 13.1 ppg. The freshman leads the squad having knocked down 56.1% of his shots and with 7.3 rebounds per game. He is second with 22 steals and third having dished out 40 assists.
Kaden Gumbs enters Saturday putting up 8.2 ppg. The San Marcos native paces the squad in free throw percentage (84.6%), assists (66) and steals (37). Chipping in 7.3 ppg and having made 17 three-pointers is Franck Emmou.
About Arkansas State
The Red Wolves are coming off an 86-74 win at home on Wednesday over Troy. They have won four of their last five games with the lone defeat coming last Saturday by four points to James Madison. When playing in Jonesboro, ASU is 6-1 this season.
Five players are averaging double-digit points led by Joey Chammaa at 13.4 ppg. He has come off the bench in all five his appearances and is shooting 50.0% from the field, knocked down 9-of-15 three-pointers (60.0%) and is 30-for-35 (85.7%) at the free throw line. Matt Hayman and Chandler Jackson are netting 11.7 and 11.3 ppg, respectively, and are both retrieving 3.3 rpg.
Jaxon Ellingsworth comes in averaging 10.9 ppg and Christian Harmon is putting up 10.5 ppg. Just shy of double-digit scoring average at 9.6 ppg is TJ Caldwell.
Series History
Texas State leads the all-time series 13-9, however Arkansas State has won the last five meetings. In the first matchup this season, the Red Wolves won 89-70 on Dec. 17.
When playing on the road, the Bobcats are 6-5 all-time but have dropped the last two contests. Last time TXST won in Jonesboro was on Feb. 9, 2023 by the score of 66-62. Five players scored in double-figures that night led 12 from Tyrel Morgan.
