SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State women's basketball will close out its home stand with games against App State and Old Dominion this week.
Texas State will start the week against App State on Jan. 21 at 7 pm in Strahan Arena. This game will be part of Maroon Madness, with fans encouraged to wear maroon.
The Bobcats will also host Old Dominion on Jan. 24 at 2 pm in Strahan Arena. Fans can purchase tickets at txst.com/tickets or tune in on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE MOUNTAINEERS
- App State enters the week with a 8-9 record on the year and are 1-6 in Sun Belt play.
- The Mountaineers are led by head coach Alaura Sharp who is in her second season in charge of the program after spending six seasons at Presbyterian. She has a 21-26 record at App State.
- Jayden McBride leads the Mountaineers with an average of 11.18 points per game. She is one of two Mountaineers averaging double-digits a night, alongside Daisia Mitchell who is averaging 10.24 points per game.
- Defensively, Emma Smith contributes 6.41 rebounds a night to lead App State.

- ODU enters the week with a 12-7 record on the year and are 4-3 in Sun Belt play. The Trojans will play at Arkansas State before making the trip to San Marcos.
- The Monarchs are led by head coach DeLish Milton Jones who is in her sixth season at ODU after spending two seasons at Pepperdine. She has a 111-66 record in her time at ODU.
- Simaru Fields leads the Monarchs with an average of 13.16 points per game. She is one of two Monarchs averaging double digits, alongside En'Dya Buford who's averaging 12.00.
- Defensively, Simone Cunningham leads the rebounding for the Monarchs with 6.05 per game.

- Texas State is 2-1 all-time against Old Dominion.
- Texas State won the meeting between the two teams 65-60 last season at Old Dominion.

ABOUT THE BOBCATS
- The Freshmen: Texas State has added two freshmen, Angela Carroll and Kaliyah Murphy.
- The Transfers: Texas State has added seven transfers, including three Division I transfers.
- The Returners: Antoine returns four members from 2024-2025 to this year's team.
- Saniya Burks leads the returners for minutes played and points scored last year as she enters her sophomore season. She started the season with a nations-best 34 points against Ohio and has had six 20+ point games this season.
- Taleiyah Gibbs played in 25 games for the Bobcats last season off the bench and returns for her junior season as well.
- Also returning are Mia Galbraith who missed the year with an ACL injury, and Takeira Ramey who missed the latter half of last season with an ACL injury.
