SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State men's basketball head coach Terrence Johnson announced the signing of Jaelyn Lee to the program for the 2025-26 season on Tuesday.
"We're thrilled to add Jaelyn Lee to our program. He is a hard worker with great character who comes from a strong background at Texas A&M. He brings great positional size, verasility and a willingness to do the little things that help teams win," said Johnson. "We believe with his work ethic, commitment and versatile skillset, Jaelyn could be an immediate impact to our program."
Lee joins the Bobcats as a redshirt junior after spending the past three years at Texas A&M. After redshirting in 2022-23, the 6-foot, 8-inch wing played in nine games off the bench with limited action the next year. His first collegiate points came against DePaul and he netted a season-high four points against Houston Christian.
The Paris, Texas native appeared in six games off the bench this past campaign. His most significant action came against HCU when he put up four points on 2-of-3 shooting and grabbed three rebounds in 14 minutes on the court.
"Jaelyn is a veteran collegiate athlete having played for an elite level program and coach. We share the same core principles and values. Because of this, we expect this to be a breakout year for him and the 2025 Bobcats," Johnson said.
Lee prepped at Paris High School where he was a four-year letterwinner. He earned district MVP as a junior and senior, claimed offensive player of the year honors as a sophomore and was chosen as the newcomer of the year his freshman season.
As a senior, Lee was named to the TABC 4A All-State Team after averaging 22.9 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. This came after putting up 22.9 ppg and 9.0 rpg the year prior.
