Box Score AUSTIN, Texas– Texas State softball fell 10-1 to #1 Texas on Wednesday evening.
The Bobcats started out the game being retired in order. From there, Maddy Azua started in the circle and gave up four runs in the bottom half of the inning. A pair of singles and a bases loaded hit by pitch scored the runs for the Longhorns.
In the 2
nd, all three Bobcats were struck out. Azua answered in the bottom half of the inning, though, forcing two pop outs and striking out a batter.
The Bobcats were retired in order again in the third, and Azua gave up a 2 RBI double before head coach
Ricci Woodard opted to bring her out of the game.
Analisa Soliz came in to pitch with no outs, she'd give up three runs. After that,
Presley Glende came in to pitch and got a fly out and the last two outs from
Sydney Harvey helping to turn a double play.
In the top of the 4
th,
Bailee Slack reached on a fielding error by the Longhorns first basemen.
Aiyana Coleman would also reached base from a walk. A
Ciara Trahan lineout would end the inning, though, stranding the runners.
Glende allowed just one hit in bottom half of the 4
th, keeping the Longhorns off the board.
Kate Bubela would get a two-out hit for the Bobcats first hit of the game. Harvey followed that up with a single. Bubela would score on a fielding error by the Longhorns' shortstop to get the lone run of the game.

The Bobcats will head back on the road for a three-game trip to Southern Miss. The first game of the three-game series will be at 6 pm on Friday, April 11. The Saturday, April 12 game will start at 5 pm and Sunday, April 13 will have a noon start. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+.
