SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State softball will return home for three games with the South Alabama Jaguars this weekend. The first game of the three-game series will be Friday, April 4 at 6 pm.
This weekend will be Throwback / Alumni Weekend in Bobcat Softball Stadium as we celebrate Southwest Texas and welcome back Texas State softball alumni this weekend.
The Bobcats come into the weekend with an 22-11 record, having a 5-4 record in Sun Belt action after two games with Sam Houston.

ABOUT THE BOBCATS:
Texas State is coming off a 47-win campaign and an appearance in the NCAA College Station Regional after winning the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in 2024. The Bobcats were selected to finish 1
st in the Sun Belt Conference Preseason poll.

Also joining the team was seven freshmen. Through 31 games so far, 25% of Texas State's starters have been freshmen.Â
Erin Peterson leads the freshmen with 31 consecutive starts at shortstop, butÂ
Mayson Garrett (25 starts) has also made her mark on the team early in her freshmen campaign.
The Bobcats currently have four players batting above .300, led byÂ
Aiyana Coleman at .410. Coleman leads the team in hits (34), home runs (12) and RBI (32) Rounding out the top of the order isÂ
Megan Kelnar (.360),Â
Ciara Trahan (.337) andÂ
Keely Williams (.315).

ABOUT THE JAGUARS:
South Alabama comes into the week with a 15-20 record on the season, with a 4-4 record so far in Sun Belt play. The Jaguars are coming off a series loss to Southern Miss.Â

South Alabama is led by Gabby Stagner who has a .357 batting average. She is leading the team in hits with 35, RBI with 33, home runs with nine and has been walked 14 times.

The Jaguars most effective pitcher is Ryley Harrison who leads the team with a 2.88 ERA in 16 appearances so far. She has pitched 80.1 innings and allowed just 33 earned runs in that time
