SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State wrapped up back-to-back midweek games with a 13-3 run-rule victory in seven innings on Wednesday night over Tarleton State at Bobcat Ballpark. All nine Bobcats in the starting lineup either drove in a run or scored in the contest.

With the victory, TXST improved to 20-21 overall while the Texans fell to 17-25 on the season.

Jackson Mayo (1-2) made his second start of the season and picked up the win after striking out three in career-high 3.1 shutout innings. Parrish Beagle (0-1) took the loss as he gave up three runs on four hits and recorded just two outs.

Out of the bullpen, Colby Diaz tossed two scoreless frames with five strikeouts and Dylan Kerbow went 1.2 innings with three runs allowed as all of them were unearned.

Theo Kumer went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Also finishing 3-for-4 at the plate was Chase Mora and Dawson Park. Mora scored three times while Park drove in two runs and scored once.

Coming around to score thrice was Zachary Gingrich, who plated a run and hit a double. Both Samson Pugh and Cole Tabor finished with two RBI each while Ryne Farber drove in a run.

Texas State jumped out to an early three-run lead in the first. Kummer hit a sacrifice fly and both Gingrich and Pugh had RBI singles.

In the second, Farber hit a sacrifice fly that saw Park score. Kummer followed three batters later by sending a 1-0 pick to centerfield with the bases loaded for a single that brought home Travis Bragg and Mora.

The Bobcats recorded their third three-run inning in the third. The first run was scored by Mora on a passed ball. Tabor drove in a run as he reached on a fielder's choice and Park followed with an RBI single.

In the fifth, TSU got on the scoreboard with three runs. The visitors had two hits and were aided by two TXST errors in the frame.

Kummer started the sixth with a single back up the middle and Gingrich then smacked a 1-1 offering off the right field wall for a double to put two in scoring position. Pugh recorded his second RBI single of the night to increase the lead to 7-0.

The scoring continued in the frame with a run coming home on a Park single and double off Tabor's bat. The finale run of the game was scored when Bragg hit into a double play that saw Tabor score on the play.

Diaz wrapped up the game by striking out the side.

Next up for the Bobcats is a weekend series at 20-ranked Troy. Friday's series opener is slated to being at 6 p.m.
