Box Score WACO, Texas– Texas State softball lost 6-0 to the Baylor Bears in the teams final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday night.
How it Happened:
The Bobcats were retired in order in the first two innings of the game while the Bears got on the board early. They strung together a double, triple and single off Maddy Azua for three runs in the first.
Presley Glende came in to pitch in the second inning. The Bears added two more runs off a double and a single helped along by an error from Glende.
Emma Strood would come in to pitch after that. The Bears scored a sixth run of the game and third of the inning on a RBI ground out to short. After two, the Bobcats trailed 6-0.
Strood retired the Bears in order in the third and fourth innings to keep the score at 6-0.
Strood gave up three hits in the bottom of the 5th to load the bases, but she'd get out of the inning after a line out to
Erin Peterson.
Through the 5th, the Bobcats defense kept the Bears from adding any more runs and they headed to the 7th inning with a 6-run deficit to overcome.
Unfortunately, Texas State was unable to put any runs on the board and would remain shutout, losing 6-0.
Texas State is now 30-15 on the season, and 12-6 in Sun Belt play.
