POINT CLEAR, Alabama – Junior
Yvonne Chamness led the Texas State women's golf lineup with a sixth-place finish at the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Championship held at the Lakewood Golf Club. For her efforts, she was named to the Sun Belt's All-Tournament team for the second time in her career.
The Bobcats (300-300-301--901) finished seventh after the three rounds of stroke play at +37, with the top four teams – No. 33 Georgia Southern (+6), Coastal Carolina (+15), Southern Miss (+16) and ULM (+21) – advancing to Thursday's match play semifinals.
Chamness (71-73-73--217) matched her best finish of tied for sixth at a Sun Belt Conference Championship, equaling her placement as a freshman in 2023. However, the 1-over finish at this season's edition was her best at the event. With the conclusion of the championship, Chamness totaled 29 rounds counted toward the team score in 2024-25 and led the team with five rounds in the 60s and 15 even or below par.

Miren Ontanon finished second and third in the TXST lineup, respectively, in their first season as Bobcats. Salama's (77-74-76--227) 11-over final 54-hole score secured her a tie for 34th, while Ontanon (77-75-79--231) was 15-over and tied for 43rd alongside
Mattingly Palmer (76-78-77—231). Rounding out the Bobcats was
Carla Bourdeaux (76-81-75--232), who shot her best round of the event at +3 on Wednesday to finish 16-over and tied for 44th.
