SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State softball will return home for a three-game series with the Troy Trojans this weekend. The series will run Thursday-Saturday with the first game being April 17 at 6 pm.

All three games will be streamed on ESPN+ or fans can purchase tickets at txst.com/tickets.
The Bobcats come into the week with a 29-13 record, having an 11-4 record in Sun Belt action after splitting games with UTSA in the midweek.

ABOUT THE BOBCATS:
Texas State is coming off a 47-win campaign and an appearance in the NCAA College Station Regional after winning the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in 2024. The Bobcats were selected to finish 1
st in the Sun Belt Conference Preseason poll. The team currently sits in first place in the Sun Belt.

Also joining the team was seven freshmen. Through 40 games so far, 25% of Texas State's starters have been freshmen.Â
Erin Peterson leads the freshmen with 40 consecutive starts at shortstop, one of just seven known freshmen in the nation to have started every game of the season.
The Bobcats currently have four players batting above .300, led byÂ
Aiyana Coleman at .436. Coleman leads the team in hits (44) home runs (13) and RBI (43) Rounding out the top of the order isÂ
Bailee Slack (.333),
Ciara Trahan (.324) and
Keely Williams (.308).

ABOUT THE TROJANS:
Troy comes into the week with a 27-20 record on the season, and they are 6-9 so far in Sun Belt Conference play. The Trojans are coming off a midweek loss to UAB and a 1-2 weekend at Georgia Southern last week.
Troy's batting is led by McKinnon Howard who is batting .440 She. Following her up is Tayor McKinney who leads the team in hits (53), runs (45), home runs (12) and RBI (42). The Trojans have seven batters above .300 this season.

The Trojans most effective pitchers are Alyssa Faircloth and Mya Holt. Faircloth has a 2.63 ERA in 128.0 innings of work. She's allowed just 48 earned runs while striking out 132 batters. Of her 92 hits surrendered, just 21 have been for extra bases. Holt has seen 74.2 innings with 36 earned runs allowed. She has struck out 15 batters.Â

UP NEXT:
Texas State will head back on the road for a game at Baylor on April 22. That game will begin at 6:30 pm and fans can tune in on ESPN+. The team will then return home that weekend to take on Louisiana in a three-game series from April 25-27.
